Tampa Bay Federal Credit Union has received reports of individuals calling/texting our membership and representing Tampa Bay Federal associates. These scammers are asking for card information and/or to give verification codes received via text message.
Please do not release any personal information to any callers. Tampa Bay Federal will never ask you for verification codes received by text message or ask you to provide card information.
If Tampa Bay Federal Fraud Department does legitimately attempt to reach you concerning fraud on your account, this is what you can expect:
- The first contact will never be live. It would be a text or an automated call.
- The Credit Union will never ask for card information including the expiration date or CVV during a fraud detection call.
If you receive any phone calls, e-mails, or text messages asking for your personal/account information please do not give it out. Hang up and call the credit union directly at 813-247-4414 x7606. If you have provided any information to a caller, please call and contact our Member Contact Center immediately.
Any outbound calls by our loan staff will verify their authenticity for your reference and will not ask you for any private/account information over the phone.
